The weather has been so nice this week! Tyler and I have been outside as much as possible--trying to get mommy back in shape!! We have some killer hills near our house and pushing that stroller is a great workout!
Tyler has been smiling like a fool, and he's starting to laugh too. And have I mentioned that he's been sleeping 7 - 8 hours per night without waking for feedings!?!?! It's been a dream come true. Just when I thought I couldn't take another night of feedings every 2 - 3 hours, he surprised us and slept all night. That was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So we're pretty confident that this should stick.
I am just now learning how to balance my life and Tyler's needs. It's still tough when we are gone for more than three hours during the day. Yesterday I went to the mall with Jaime and had to feed Tyler twice while we were out. It was an adventure for sure. I figured it out of course but sometimes I envy those formula babies!! I also have a hard time when I have meetings and other activities back to back. I can't always take Tyler with me and that poses several problems. First, I miss him terribly. Second, he needs to eat and I don't always have time in between to feed him so he ends up getting a bottle I pumped for him. I'm figuring things out though. And I can't put into words how much I love being a mom and how much joy Tyler brings to me each day.
We've had some family come see us in the last few weeks: First Grandma and Aunt Denise, then Aunt Denise came back and then Grandpa came! Now "other" Grandma is coming this weekend!! (Not sure yet quite how to differentiate. Maybe we should say Idaho Grandma and California Grandma? Or Grandma Pimentel and Grandma Miles? I have no idea.) We love when family comes to visit. It's a lot of fun and I'm finding that it's nice for me to have a little extra help with the baby. Though I should insert here that Erik is a huge help and I appreciate and love him very much!
Here are some recent pictures: (and yes, that is Tyler in the kitchen cabinet. And no, I did not approve that.)
