White Christmas in Utah

Well Tyler had his first Christmas. Things are kind of strange around here because Grandpa is missing from his usual spot at the head of the table. He is back in the ICU (has been for a week or two) and we've been visiting him twice a day. We got spoiled by all three grandmas (that includes one great-grandma), and we've had a great time playing with our cousins Neal and Jeffrey. Grandpa has been improving but so far is still in the ICU. It's been a little over a month now.

He did get a Priesthood blessing telling him he would rise up and walk out of the hospital. So we certainly have faith in that.

Here are some cute pictures from our Christmas:

This one is for you, Jaime: Tyler is not afraid of white cats. Here he is sitting on Grandma Miles' lap with Kitty Boy in Idaho.

Here is Tyler still in Idaho eating his first bite of chocolate. Chocolate flavoring anyway. I don't think they put real chocolate in boxed pudding.

Here we are opening presents at Aunt Denise's house in Boise, Idaho. Tyler was more interested in eating the presents than in opening them.

Here we are in Utah at Grandma/Great-Grandma's house. Grandma makes turkey for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Here is turkey number two.

Rather than spend a bunch of money on new stuff, I wrapped up a few of Tyler's existing toys and gave them to him again for Christmas. He seems happy to have his toy piano back.

My mom went literally NUTS and spent a ton of money on designer apparel for Tyler. Here is pair one of three pairs of Kenneth Cole dress shoes in size 3.5 for babies.

Erik and I got a Wii for Grandma for Christmas. She was pretty excited.

Here is the destruction after we opened our presents. What you see here is JUST gifts for Tyler.

Tyler loves his gifts and loves playing with his cousins Neal and Jeffrey. Here are Tyler and Neal playing with Tyler's new blocks.

Tyler, Neal and Jeffrey watching Ice Age. I should note here that Tyler has advanced ten fold since we've been in Utah. Since spending time with all his cousins he has learned how to crawl lightening fast, he's gotten two new teeth bringing his total to 6, he's starting talking in baby sentences which is way cute, he has been starting to walk, he learned to wave bye-bye and has been trying to climb the furniture. He is 100% off his pacifier now and sleeps with a comforter blanket over him in his crib. All of this is new as of this week.

Mini Santa

Tyler still loves to eat of course. Here is a cute picture of him feeding himself. We miss you all! We'll be home on the second or third of January!

I'm getting business cards with a headshot on them... which one do you like better for a professional business card?

HIJACK

This post is not coming to you VIA Jennifer. This is her husband, Erik. I decided to hijack her blog (ah...the things you can do when in possession of another's password) and tell her how I feel about her. This will probably not be posted for long, I am sure as soon as she sees it she will remove it. HERE GOES! Jennifer, my dear, I love you oh so very much. On Monday is our 1 year anniversary! A whole year! That may not seem like much, but my oh my it has flown by quickly. Since you are a relative young'un that year actually represents around 4.76% of your entire lifespan(thus far). I still keep my eye out for things that represent 'US'. Who can forget the 'EJ' Truck? I have never stopped looking for, nor noting 28s as they pop up all over the place. I notice all of the little things you do. I notice the little faces you make. I notice the little noises you make. I notice the slight shifting of your posture in response to my incessant joking. This face was made...

One Month Old

Tyler turned one month old on Friday! He has grown and changed a lot just in the last couple of weeks. It is so much fun to watch him now that he is smiling and holding his head all the way up and clasping his hands together--interlaced as if in prayer. He is the cutest baby (ok, so I'm biased). We've had a hard week though (make that almost two weeks--I've been trying to publish this post for 5 days). The other day he screamed for almost 24 hours straight. Luckily Jaime came over to show me how to help relieve his gas and he calmed down for a couple of hours. He has been up all night, up all day and just kind of hard to deal with. Of course I still love him, which is weird. Usually its hard to love someone who deprives you of sleep. :) Update: Like I said, I have been trying to publish this for almost a week--I have had literally no time between work and a screaming baby and laundry and dishes and cooking and cleaning but alas I think I now have 5 minutes! Anyway, Ty...
